about

‘Sare’ brings in Nigerian vocalist Adedeji Adetayo for his first collaboration with Afriquoi. Born in Lagos and already leading his church choir at the tender age of 10, he had a prolific output in his native Nigeria as session musician, backing vocalist and producer, appearing all over Nigerian radio jingles, adverts and movie sound tracks at the age of 18, before relocating to Greece in 2006, since when he has performed all over Europe both with his own group and in collaboration with other artists. Written in his native Yoruba, and not to be confused the with the classic Femi Kuti song ‘Sorry’, the title ‘Sare’ means run and the song is a call to action for all those wanting to achieve something in life:

“Run run/ stand up listen / time is now for you to come / stand up let’s go // Morning is the day for who ever wants to do great/ stand up get to work Time does not play with life / stand up get to work”

You heard the man!
